About Metta Welfare Association
Metta Welfare Association was founded in 1992 by Venerable Chao Khun Fa Zhao BBM. He is also the President of Golden Pagoda Buddhist Temple and Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum.
Registered as a society in 1994, Metta Welfare Association is presently endorsed by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE). We are also members of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), Singapore Hospice Council and Singapore Disability Sports Council.
As a recognition of our efforts in pursuing Business Excellence, we have been awarded the Singapore Quality Class (SQC) with People certification in October 2018.
Metta Welfare Association was also awarded the Charity Transparency Awards (CTA) in 2019. The Award recognises charities with good disclosure practices that the Charity Transparency Framework (CTF) recommends to encourage charities to be more transparent and to recognise them for their disclosure efforts.
